A Cricket Association
Creating opportunities for women to play cricket in Southern California.
SCWCA is a 40-women-strong hardball cricket association based in Orange County, CA. We compete in women’s cricket tournaments and host all-women cricket practices around Southern California.
Adult women players of all skill levels and ages are encouraged to join us, including master’s athletes.
We also organize the Cali Crushers, a co-ed cricket team that competes weekly in the Orange County Cricket Association. We’re the only co-ed hardball cricket team in the USA and we operate on a ladies-first mentality.
After a successful summer series, the Cali Crushers Co-Ed Cricket Team got a logo and uniform glow-up for the OCCA Winter League ’24-25 season. Our 10-match winter season is currently in progress and we’re always looking for new players. Check out our full schedule below:
SCWCA seeks out recreational women’s cricket tournaments for our players to compete in. This year, we’re planning to compete in St. Louis, New York, and Florida.
Are you looking for cricket match practice? Or opportunities to develop your hardball cricket skills? Or maybe you just want to be part of a fun women’s sports team? SCWCA cricket practices are a great place to start!
SCWCA is dedicated to expanding women’s access to competitive cricket opportunities.
We create opportunities for SoCal-area adult women to play all-women leatherball cricket matches for practice, fun, and pathways to competitive play.
Through games, tournaments, and outreach, we’re building a network of women who play cricket and love the game as much as we do.
We’re increasing women’s cricket visibility in the U.S, along with players’ access to cricket facilities and resources.
Our blueprint for women’s cricket in the Southern California area and beyond.
01
Starting Small
We still host casual, drop-in practices at SoCal sports fields for noobs to veteran cricket players.
02
Building a Roster
We’ve built a network of more than 40 women interested in playing competitive cricket.
03
Starting a Team
In 2024, we launched the Cali Crushers adult women’s cricket team and competed in our first domestic tournament.
04
Playing in the OCCA
In 2024, we also registered in the OCCA as the first co-ed adult cricket team in the United States, and are competing in our 2nd season.
05
Hosting Tournaments
Next up, we’re focusing on hosting a series of adult women’s cricket tournaments in Long Beach, CA.
06
Our Role in All This
We’re facilitators, advocates, and above all, cricket players.
Women in the United States need more opportunities to play cricket at a competitive level.
Although women’s cricket is one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, match opportunities for senior women cricket players in the United States are almost non-existent.
A professional cricket player and an avid cricket fan founded the SCWCA.

No problem! Cricket is an easy to pick up team sport, and we’ll cover the basics before we play. If you want to get a head start, check out the ICC’s “What is Cricket” video.
If you have a cricket kit, bring it for your own use. We will provide some gear for batters.
We currently organize two cricket teams: a SoCal co-ed cricket team that competes locally against men’s teams, and a women-only team that practices and travels to tournaments together. Women are welcome to join either team.
Not yet. We’re negotiating with several cities on establishing a permanent cricket pitch with priority access for women. In the interim, we play on sports fields, with a regulation-sized cricket pitch and boundaries marked out.
Yes, it’s standard procedure for any sport.
Yes! Drop-in practices are free. Match fees for our OCCA co-ed team are typically around $30 and you can play on an ad-hoc basis. Tournament fees depend on the registration costs.
Absolutely – bring your friends interested in cricket. If we need to fill a spot on a team, male players are welcome to join for the match. Otherwise, they will get to enjoy watching the cricket match.
Basic athleticism is a good start, along with throwing, catching, and hitting a ball. But really, having fun playing the game is the only skill you need. If you want an even bigger head start, check out these ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 highlights.
There are three formats of cricket played at the international level – Test matches, One-Day Internationals, and Twenty20 Internationals. We will be playing T20 over format or shorter.
